Conservatory Roof Replacement Survey

Conservatory Roofing Surveyor

We can survey your customer’s existing conservatory and advise on what type of replacement roof is suitable for their conservatory.

We can check that the replacement roof:

  • Complies with all building regulations.
  • Check that the measurements are accurate.
  • Check that the existing conservatory has the load-bearing capacity for your customer’s choice of roof replacement.
  • Check any guttering requirements/replacements.
  • Check the energy efficiency of the replacement roof.

In addition, we can help you plan the installation of the roof so that it all goes smoothly.

What are the benefits of installing a replacement roof?

There are several reasons that your customers may prefer to have a replacement roof on their conservatory rather than replace the whole structure. These include:

  • Originally, conservatories were viewed as a home improvement that had to include 75% of its roof and 50% of its walls made from glazed materials. This meant these buildings were not required to comply with building regulations. It also means that many of these older conservatories are cold in the winter and hot in summer.
  • If your customer has a conservatory roof that leaks, has mould issues, or condensation, installing a new insulated roof not only solves these issues but is also more cost-effective than replacing the whole conservatory.
  • Older conservatories are not very energy efficient, and so, replacing the roof is a good way to improve energy efficiency and save on heating bills.
  • A new roof can give an older conservatory a modern, contemporary look.
  • Your customers will get year-round use of their conservatory if they have a well-insulated roof. So, it makes sense to offer them this option.
  • They are quick and straightforward to install.
  • They can add value to the property.
  • Help minimise glare when using electronic devices.
  • The overall structure of the conservatory can be maintained as they are lightweight.
  • Enhance the existing space.

What types of conservatory roofs are available?

There are plenty of options you can offer your customers when it comes to replacement conservatory roofs, including:

  • A traditional glass look roof.
  • A fully tiled roof.
  • A contemporary hybrid option composed of a solid, vaulted roof with glazed panels.

What are the benefits of each of these types of roofs?

Traditional Glass Roofs

A traditional glass roof uses a low-emissivity glass. This type of glass is better at insulating the conservatory and reducing the impact of fluctuations in temperature. This means your customers will have a comfortable space to relax whilst also lowering energy bills. A self-cleaning glass option is a good choice as it’s a way of achieving a traditional look with modern benefits.

Solid Tiled Roofs

A solid tiled roof is an option that is both lightweight and relatively straightforward to install. They help prevent draughts whilst providing additional insulation. Another benefit is that they are available in a choice of colours, meaning the customer can choose a tile that blends in with their home’s overall appearance.

Hybrid Roofs

A hybrid roof uses aluminium and glass. It’s a great choice if your customer wants to achieve a contemporary look. It means the customer gets a space that is filled with natural light and stays at a comfortable temperature all the time.
